Voice National creative Arts and Education Alliance (VNCEA) was founded by Gwendolyn A. Mickens and other dedicated community activists. Gwendolyn A. Mickens is an early childhood specialist with over 25 years experience working with families and children. Gwendolyn was born in Philadelphia. Pa and raised in Camden, NJ. She returned to Philadelphia to obtain her education from Temple University. Throughout her professional career she has dedicated her time to providing quality education and community-based visual and performing arts programming in both Philadelphia and Camden. Her passion for quality early childhood education and creative arts is what moved her to found the VNCEA.
VNCEA fosters sustainable collaborations inspired by Pan-African Nationalism and Indigenous principles. Our focus is on elevating Black and Brown voices, creating educational opportunities, and strengthening cultural identity through collective action. Families and communites are our top priority. We believe families need the support of the village. The members of VNCEA are valued members of the community who are activily working to support the mission of VNCEA and they act as voices of the community at large to guid and direct the vision of the organization.
